🤷‍♀️ I keep saying no and I've never been happier

Hello Reader,

He said: You could teach human design and business for this new cohort!

It was a Facebook message from an entrepreneur I’ve known for years.

On paper, this was an obvious yes. New audience. Great exposure. Could turn into clients. More teaching practice.

Buuuut.... I have this newfound skill. It's body before brain decision making.

I've learned, through my Human Design study, to listen to my body FIRST before my brain starts nattering at me about how great of an opportunity this is.

So before I even finished reading his message, something in my body went flat. Not a bad feeling. Not fear. Just... nothing. No buzz. No pull.

My brain showed up about eleven seconds later with its little clipboard whining but... new audience, but.... list growth, but.... new clients!

Thank you, Brain. Opinion noted.

I said no, anyway.

In the past, I might have talked myself into it. Because logically, it made sense. Because someone had asked. Because it seemed like the kind of opportunity a smart business owner shouldn't turn down.

I've done that plenty of times.

And I've learned that when I override a clear lack of enthusiasm with a beautifully reasoned argument, I end up wishing I'd listened to myself in the first place.

We're taught to make decisions with our heads. Make the list. Weigh the pros and cons. Think it through. Be sensible.

But here's what I find so fascinating about Human Design.

We're not meant to make decisions with our minds. We're meant to listen to our bodies.

And our bodies don't all speak the same language.

Some people find clarity by talking things out loud. Some need time to ride out their emotions before deciding. Some notice a quiet, immediate instinct. And some, like me, experiment with noticing whether their body has any energy around what's being offered.

It's not about throwing common sense out the window. It's about recognizing that logic might not be the only useful information available.

Which brings me to my latest podcast series.

I've been exploring the different ways people make decisions through the lens of Human Design, what those body responses might feel like, and how to start recognizing them in everyday life.

If you've ever made the perfectly logical choice and then wondered why it felt so wrong, you might find this interesting.

Here's my suggested rabbit hole:

First, get your free Human Design chart and find your Authority (that's Human Design's term for your decision-making process).

Then listen to the corresponding episode of Human Design Field Notes.

And once you're thoroughly hooked, start pulling charts for your husband, kids, sister, best friend, and that one person whose decision-making process has baffled you for the last fifteen years.

Before you know it, you'll have seventeen charts open, three podcast episodes queued, and an entirely new theory about your mother-in-law.

You're so welcome.

Sandy,
Perfectly Good Opportunity Denier

Hello Reader,It was early. Still dark outside. The crows were already at it, squawking away at their first morning meeting. I was at my desk in my pajamas, fresh coffee in hand, tangled hair, no concealer, ring light off. A message dinged in WhatsApp. A client asked if we could do some asynchronous coaching through her launch, which was starting immediately. I type-screamed YES, because I knew a little something about her: she’s a Projector in Human Design, and her best decision-making...

Hello Reader,🫠 Yesterday I spent three hours making one Instagram post. Giving myself a little credit, it was an eight-page carousel. But still. THREE HOURS? For the love of God, what is wrong with me? In the last couple of weeks I've wrote, recorded, edited and published eleven podcast episodes. I sit down, grab the ballerina pink headphones, turn on the big mic, start talking, and somehow an episode comes out the other side. Editing? Ten minutes tops.Show notes? Roughly five minutes. Post...

Hello Reader,Well, this got out of hand quickly. A little while ago, I started learning about Human Design. Then I started experimenting with it in my own life. Then I thought, I should make a podcast about this. And apparently that was a very big yes, because now I cannot stop making episodes. I love researching them. I love figuring out how to explain something that initially sounds wildly complicated in a way that actually makes sense. I love coming up with stories and silly analogies. I...
